Our Co-Founders

Ben Burch

MEng, Oxon

Allegr is named after Ben's daughter who needed open heart surgery at 4 days old. To raise money for research that saved her life, Ben ran 100km. Ben continues to run community engagement and fundraising events all across the UK. Ben is a former national team rower and President of the Oxford University Boat Club.

Ben is Allegr's tech development lead and his career spans operations and technology across retail, e-commerce, banking and fitness.

Rachel Mitchell

MSc Sports Management, BA Psych 

Rach is a mother of 3. She experienced first hand the huge challenges and shock of being a new mum and believes there is an incredible opportunity for Allegr to support this community.

For over 25 years and 3 maternity leaves, Rach has worked with an incredible team in sport marketing, staging and promoting some of the most prolific golf events across the globe. With a passion for running and sport, Rach believes in the power of physical activity to transform lives and communities.

Robin Bourne-Taylor

MEng Oxon, MEd, CGC, OLY

Robin served in the British Army, leading soldiers through a kinetic tour of Afghanistan. He is passionate about supporting the serving and veterans' communities. Robin is a double Olympian and former President of the Oxford University Boat Club.

Robin has a career in executive and operational leadership across several industries and was named a 2018 Eisenhower Fellow and global change agent as part of his role leading one of West Africa's most prominent youth development organisations. 

Scientific & Medical Advisors

Dr Eeke Thomée MRCS, FRCR

Eeke is a former international rowing athlete, a mother of three, and ultra-runner. She is a Consultant Radiologist at the Royal Berkshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Reading and works closely with multiple elite sports programmes.

Neil Clark

Neil is an adult and youth mental health first aider, a well-being coach and mentor, and is also currently a PhD researcher focusing on mental health and well-being in elite sport and career transition. 

James Davies

James is an NHS practice manager specialising in tech and IT implementation within the NHS. James has a broad experience across personnel, primary care, procurement and regional NHS strategy.
